💡 The 5600MHz module requires a 5th Generation Intel Xeon processor (e.g. Xeon Scalable 6400 series) to operate at full rated speed. In servers with 4th Gen Intel CPUs, DDR5-5600 DIMMs will downclock to 4800MHz. The 4800MHz module is compatible with all HPE Gen11 Intel-based servers.

Memory Population & Configuration Rules
- Always populate DIMMs in matched pairs per memory channel for maximum performance (balanced population)
- Do NOT mix DDR5 RDIMM and DDR5 UDIMM types in the same server
- Do NOT mix DDR4 and DDR5 DIMMs — DDR5 servers use a different socket and are not backward compatible
- If mixing DDR5-4800 and DDR5-5600 DIMMs in the same server, all DIMMs will run at the lower speed (4800 MT/s)
- Maximum memory speed is governed by the processor — refer to your server’s QuickSpecs for per-CPU memory speed support
- HPE recommends using the HPE Memory Configurator (hpe.com/info/HPESC) to validate your configuration before purchase
